The Importance of Human Touch

Human touch is vitally important to our health and well being.  In this episode I talk about social distancing, holding babies, and showing the love of Jesus through touch by missionaries at a leper colony.   

No Fear

The COVID-19 panic is the result of fear.  Fear is a negative emotion that is more contagious than the virus!  God's word to us is to fear not, be not afraid, and the same applies to the Coronovirus.  No matter what the situation, God says we can face it without fear because He is with us.   

The Difference Between Sympathy and Empathy

Empathy goes deeper than sympathy.  Empathy says I not only feel sorry for you, but I feel what you feel.  A subtle difference, yet it's not so subtle.  It moves us to help others and to want to be there for them.  

True Love Never Dies

I believe true love never dies.  If you ever loved someone, you still do, even if they are out of your life forever.  Love is our natural state of being.  That's why receiving love, or expressing it, makes us so happy.  The love you feel for another person never goes away.

This episode talks about the commandments, what Jesus said about them, and how they relate to the golden rule.  I begin by talking a little about the 1956 Cecil B. DeMille movie and how watching the movie encouraged me to read the book!

Always Tip Your Waitress

You should always tip your servers.  Bad service may not be the server's fault.  Servers can be paid less than half of minimum wage and depend on tips to make a living.  You should always tip the wait staff.      

A Death In The Family

One of the hardest emotional things you will ever go through is the death of a loved one.  This episode deals with the grieving process and taking comfort from the fact that death is not the end. 

Billionaires

Billionaires.  The President, and two men running for president, are billionaires.  Most people have no concept of how much money one billion dollars represents.  According to the internet,  the wealthiest man in America is worth over 127 Billion.  How much is a billion?    

Turn It!

Do you still say "turn it" when you want someone to change channels on TV?  Do you still "dial" a phone number?  There's nothing to turn on a TV and no "dial" on your phone.  A bit of nostalgia for words we still use even though they don't really make sense.
